MN Police Officers Association Endorses Thomas Knecht
Eden Prairie, MN – The Minnesota Police and Peace Officers Association (MPPOA), the oldest and largest police organization in the state, has endorsed Thomas Knecht for State Representative in Minnesota House District 49B. Knecht is the Republican endorsed candidate against DFL incumbent Carlie Kotyza-Witthuhn.
“It pains me that on almost a daily basis voters tell me how they ‘don’t feel safe anymore’ due to the dramatic rise of violent crime in the Twin Cities and its spread to the suburbs. Eden Prairie residents can’t flourish if they live in fear. We must combat the scourge of armed theft, carjackings, and murders plaguing our state. I am running to restore order, prioritize public safety, and support the police. I am honored to receive the endorsement from the MPPOA to do that,” said Knecht.
“I will work to develop strong policies that provide police and peace officers the resources they need, ensure the mental health and wellness of law enforcement professionals, and push back against harmful narratives that villainize the police and embolden criminals. We need to replace far-left politicians, like my opponent, who voted to weaken criminal penalties for violent criminals and to allow communities to defund the police.
Rather than work against the police and contribute to the rise of violent crime, I will support the police, strengthen community relationships, enact any needed reforms, and ensure public safety,” concluded Knecht.
