Care Providers of Minnesota Endorse Thomas Knecht
Adds to Knecht’s Growing List of Endorsements
Eden Prairie, Minnesota – CARE-PAC, the political action committee for the Care Providers of Minnesota, recently endorsed Thomas Knecht for State Representative in Minnesota’s House District 49B. Knecht is the Republican-endorsed candidate running against DFL incumbent Rep. Carlie Kotyza-Witthuhn. Knecht’s support of, and interest in, long-term care for the growing senior demographic was the primary reason he earned the endorsement from the Care Providers of Minnesota, a nonprofit that represents 900+ senior-care providers across Minnesota.
“Our dedicated long-term care professionals are proud to support Thomas Knecht,” said Pattie Cullen, President and CEO of Care Providers of Minnesota. “Knecht understands our state’s long-term care issues, the need to expand our workforce, and the personal financing challenges facing seniors receiving long-term care services and support. In addition, he has a deep commitment to maintaining Minnesota’s reputation for high-quality long-term care—wherever that care is provided.” Cullen concluded that “We are excited to endorse Thomas Knecht to continue supporting caregivers and quality care and to continue our partnership with elected officials into the future.”
Knecht stated “long-term care providers are essential to the health and well-being of Minnesota seniors. With 60,000 Minnesotans turning 65 every year for the next 15 years, I will work tirelessly to ensure Minnesota providers have the resources they need to properly care for our state’s senior citizen population.”
Additionally, Knecht declared that “in endorsing me over Rep. Kotyza-Witthuhn, the Minnesota Care Providers indicate that they do not believe Kotyza-Witthuhn’s voting record is adequately supportive of senior care. Nor do they believe that Rep. Kotyza-Witthuhn is working to ensure that we have enough caregivers for the 25% of Minnesota adults who will be age 65 or older in the next decade.” Knecht concluded that “I am honored the Care Providers of Minnesota trust me to be a strong advocate for Eden Prairie seniors, care providers, and nursing homes.”
The endorsement from the Care Providers of Minnesota adds to Knecht’s growing list of support. Previously, he was endorsed by The Minnesota Chamber of Commerce, the Minnesota Chapter of the National Federation of Independent Businesses, and Housing First Minnesota. Knecht was also endorsed by the Minnesota Police and Peace Officers Association, the largest police organization in the state.
